To Resolve Peacefully

Israel was founded in the year that the Empire Windrush docked at Tilbury. Some people are fourth generation Israeli. Israelis cannot be told to “go home”. The present Palestinian leadership is atrocious.

But it seems certain that Israel is about to annex the Jordan Valley, making a two-state solution impossible, and forcibly incorporating a population that the recently enacted Nation-State Law had already consigned to second class status or below. This cannot and will not last.

To object to this would be grounds for expulsion from the Labour Party, which also regards Kashmir as “a matter for the Indian Parliament” and “a bilateral issue for India and Pakistan to resolve peacefully”.

It is necessary to organise independently of Labour in order to pursue economic equality and international peace through the democratic political control of the means to those ends, whether in Britain, or in a self-determined Kashmir, or in the single state, encompassing the whole of the former British Mandate of Palestine, into which Israel has become determined to incorporate itself.
