Net Approval

Not for the first time, Boris Johnson is very, very lucky. No one wants to vote for Keir Starmer. But net approval of the Government's handling of the Covid-19 crisis has fallen by nine points in the last week, so that it now stands at -3. The lockdown was and is popular. The easing of it is not.

As for those who blather about "the cost", they do not understand how the money supply works. It is simple as that. They are the sort of funny little people who think that the State's revenue comes from taxation or from borrowing, as if that were what they were for.

The most prominent such people are on the Labour front bench. But all the pub bore table-thumping in the world does not change the facts. And thankfully, Red Rishi does understand how the money supply works. He has probably never knowingly met anyone who did not.
