Formative Value

The Labour Party Conference in September has been cancelled for the safety of all concerned, but it could in fact still be held in one of Durham County Council’s schools, since we are expected to believe that those will be perfectly safe from as early as 1st June.

Conservative-controlled Solihull is not opening up. There is talk that North Yorkshire might not do so, either. But Durham is loyal to Keir Starmer, who for the sake of his corporate sponsors has been demanding an “exit strategy” from the lockdown since even before his coronation.

“Herd immunity”, here we come. The public schools are not going back until September. But to Starmer, as to Simon Henig, time spent with the common herd is of no formative value.

The County Durham Teaching Assistants have unrivalled moral authority, with which they need to declare that they would not be going back until Eton did, and then only on the same terms, namely that every pupil and every staff member had been tested for Covid-19.
