A Border Down The Irish Sea

Jeremy Corbyn and, especially, John McDonnell campaigned for such a thing over many decades, until changing their tune when it became a realistic prospect. As with Brexit itself, in fact.

The DUP, which in government has already parted company with Boris Johnson over the lockdown, no longer provides the Government's majority at Westminster.

Instead, across Wales, the Midlands and the North, the Conservatives now hold by tiny majorities seats that contain major centres of Irish Catholic population. From Crewe to Consett, and well beyond.

So yes. A border down the Irish Sea. Expect it to harden over time.
