There is no suggestion that Yvette Cooper was paired. She made a speech setting out her reasons for abstaining, and then she abstained. By my reckoning, that was the first rebellion against Keir Starmer. Not by, say, Richard Burgon. But by a fringe Outer Rightist.
Now, perhaps I am becoming cynical, but might Cooper's abstention, the first rebellion against Starmer, have been staged? "He can't be all that right-wing, the Wicked Witch of the Work Capability Assessment couldn't bring herself to vote for his soft line on darkies"?
