For decades, going all the way back to water privatisation, we have had to put up with these things in England, because we are England.
Prescription charges, eye and dental charges, hospital car-parking charges, charges for personal care for the elderly, undergraduate tuition fees, ridiculously expensive public transport outside London, and so on, and on, and on, and on, and on.
Apparently, these are what we prefer. But we are given no option of voting against them. Even Jeremy Corbyn had to put up with his wretched MPs and party staff, and he would have had to have done so in office.
And now, this. Get yourselves to work at 12 hours' notice, you plebs who cannot work from home. Get yourselves there on foot. And if what you find there kills you, well, that kind of thing built the Empire, don't you know?
Well, no. Enough is very much more than enough.
Not only must England resist this, but we must use it as the opportunity to demand the end of prescription charges, eye and dental charges, hospital car-parking charges, charges for personal care for the elderly, undergraduate tuition fees, ridiculously expensive public transport outside London, and so on, and on, and on, and on, and on.
