Dragon's Teeth

It is gravely concerning that the Senedd elections next year might be delayed or cancelled. Elections in England and Scotland are expected to go ahead on the same day, as are elections for Police and Crime Commissioners in Wales.

Elections will by then have been held in Austria, Bosnia, the Czech Republic, France, Georgia, Iceland, Lithuania, Moldova, Montenegro, Ukraine, and the United States. There might very well have been another General Election in the Irish Republic.

The only motivation for cancelling the Senedd elections is the realisation that Labour is highly likely to lose the office of First Minister of Wales for the first time ever. It is practically certain that there is going to be a hung Senedd, and it is scarcely less certain that the Conservatives are going to be the largest party.

Therefore, for the list section, the voters in each region should support a list that would fight for economic equality and for international peace through the democratic political control of the means to those ends within a united and independent Britain.

  1. I agree David, many voters up here in Rhyl (a solid Welsh Labour town for decades) were already waiting for the opportunity to punish WL for 'betraying' them in the pro remain stance it took but the utter debacle of the WL gov's covid 'response'is likely to destroy WL contro in Wales.
