Parents will either sincerely claim that their children had symptoms, or pretend to believe that they did.

And if anyone over five can now be tested for Covid-19, then no one should go back to school without having been tested.

How would what was planned for 1st June make it easier for people with children to go back to work? That would be the case only if all of one's children were in Reception, Year One or Year Six.

The Government just wants the appearance of a win. "Look," it will say at the news conference on 1st June, "the schools have reopened. With no one in them, but they have reopened."
