Speaking of parliamentary candidates, three names are already being touted to succeed Pat Glass. But they are all men, and there looks likely to be another all-women shortlist.
Moreover, one of them is one of the 57 county councillors who voted to sack all 2700 Teaching Assistants and rehire them on a 25 per cent pay cut.
Might one of those be available?
If not, and with the Left's leading woman in the constituency having ruled herself out (although to what has it come, when the Left as an entity has to take up a cause of this kind, against a Labour council?), then vote for Owen Temple.

In the last few minutes, NW Durham CLP has passed a motion of confidence in Jeremy. The left can have this seat, it can be done.
