Red Arrows

This Labour Leadership Election is about Trident, in the way that the last one was about welfare cuts. Who won that one?

As for Owen Smith's "normal" jibe, was it aimed solely at Angela Eagle?

Or was he also giving us an insight into how his Labour Party would attack Theresa May?

If Eagle beat him, then she would become the first woman ever to have beaten a man in a Labour Leadership Election.

Third out of three in 1994, fifth out of five in 2010, third and fourth out of four in 2010. Barbara Castle was never even a candidate.

But Eagle still would not have won that Election itself. Nor, for other reasons, should she have done so.

Chief among those reasons is now Trident.
