Taking Over The Asylum

David Cameron's humiliation over the refugee children is complete.

  1. Actually it's a very clever compromise. He rightly said he does not want to encourage more people to make a lethal journey across the sea by taking in people who have travelled to Europe.

This compromise avoids that by only taking in children who came to Europe before the March 20 deal struck with Turkey, so nobody who makes the journey subsequently will be let in.

We are as a nation collectively being made to pay for Angela Merkel's criminally insane decision to offer 1 million people asylum thus bringing an armada of boats to Europe.

We should have done what Australia did and told people that those who make the journey won't be let in, thus preventing the drownings by deterring the crossings in the first place.

But we didn't follow their successful example.

  2. I hope you're happy we are being forced to collectively pay for Angela Merkel's criminal folly in extending an open invitation to the Middle East to move to Europe, thus drowning hundreds of people, leaving children unaccompanied across Europe and opening Paris and Belgium to terrorist arrack.

The British people never asked or voted for mass Muslim immigration from the worst parts of the Middle East.

We are paying for Merkel's decision not to follow Australia's successful asylum policy.

How many drownings have they had compared to us?

Which is more humane-trying to look good or trying to do good?

  3. He's not humiliated. It's a compromise that avoids precisely what he wanted to avoid.

  4. You're probably too thick to understand it, but Cameron has always agreed to take in thousands of children directly from refugee camps-his objection to taking in those already in Europe is that it would encourage more to make the perilous journey.

By only taking in children who arrived here before 20 March he avoids that problem.

    No humiliation involved.

  5. Cameron had always pledged to take in children from Syrian refugee camps-his objection to taking in children from Europe was that

    a) they are already safe in Europe.

    b) Giving residence to people who have journeyed to Europe will encourage more to try their luck and make the journey in the hope of getting to Britain

    This compromise overcomes those objections.
