I find myself wondering, not what will come next for the United States and the United Kingdom, but what will come after them. America looks set to elect Joe Biden, who once plagiarised Neil Kinnock. Give that a moment to sink in. He once plagiarised Neil Kinnock.
If Biden did not win, then there would be four more years of Donald Trump. Yet the Americans have it easy. Here in Britain, we get to choose between the tribute acts, between the man who yearns to be Biden and the man who yearns to be Trump. Please give generously.
