Boris Johnson was not so much wafted as shoehorned into the Premiership by a coterie of Fleet Street stalwarts.
Those affect to be of the libertarian Right, but in reality they are just contrary for the sake of it, for a laugh, as a public school lark.
To please their character acts, the lockdown was imposed too late, it was lifted too early, and now here we are.
