Cry If You Want To

If Jeremy Corbyn had said nothing at all today, then he would have even suspended for having said nothing at all. Keir Starmer had a point to prove. But while Neil Kinnock did convince the Secret State that he was fit to be Prime Minister, he never convinced the voters. And while Starmer is entirely a product of the Secret State, he has little or no cut through to the electorate, not even against the worst Government in living memory.

For all Corbyn's undeniable faults, people who stay in the Labour Party should enjoy being in the same party as Tony Blair but not Corbyn, a party that presents the man who lost it the Red Wall as fit to be Prime Minister. They can bloody well have the Labour Party. Why would anyone want that, anyway? What is it with Labour Party members, across the spectrum, that they think that being outside "the party" is the same as being dead? I am a declared and active Independent candidate for North West Durham at the next General Election. Please give generously.
