Theresa May's speech is being well-received by the media. You see, with their background, they do respond well to Nanny or Matron. But most people don't.
When her party decided that she was the only person, out of 66 million, who was capable of being Prime Minister, then I said that she would rapidly annoy the hell out of the electorate.
She doesn't mean to do it. But I don't think she can help it.
We had an MP like that for 23 years. The all women shortlist system has given us a Parliamentary Labour Party full of them but although they are all Mary Poppins none of them have umbrellas as impressive as yours.
