Defining Memory

"A new generation of voters, whose defining memory is not the fall of the Berlin wall, but the collapse of the banks." You know what, Theresa May, that's a good line.

It is just a pity about, "Millions of people who have supported Labour all their lives are appalled by what has happened to a once-great party under the leadership of Jeremy Corbyn."

You seem to think that your majority of 200, turning even the old coalfields blue, really happened. But it didn't. Corbyn came within 800,000 votes of beating you.

The rest of your article combines two other media delusions, that the country is crying out for liberal "centrism", and that the country is crying out for right-wing "populism".

It isn't. Again, you only need to look at last year's General Election results.

Your only glimmer of understanding is that you are only proposing any of this because Corbyn is there, and because you fully expect him to lead the largest party in the next hung Parliament.

In that hung Parliament, however, our people need to hold the balance of power. My crowdfunding page is here, or email davidaslindsay@hotmail.com for other options. That address accepts PayPal.
