Maggie's Boys

Margaret Thatcher picked Two Little Boys as her favourite song.

File under Sir Jimmy Savile, Sir Cyril Smith, Sir Peter Morrison and Sir Laurens van der Post.

But never try to find that file again.

  1. She didn't know they were paedophiles.

    1. Bevan and Eden, then.

And of course she did (so too wicked, not too stupid). One hell of a coincidence if, fully briefed by MI5 and Special Branch, she was surrounded by quite that many of them and didn't know. Of course she knew.

In Savile's case, every G-list celebrity and everyone vaguely around Fleet Street knew, never mind the Prime Minister who was one of his closest friends.

Smith was also hardly a secret. And the whole political world knew about Morrison, who was her closest aide and who even ran her 1990 Leadership campaign.

  2. Well, in that case the whole of the NSPCC, about thrity children's Hospitals, the BBC, radio, Fleet Street and everyone else was working with Saville while knowing he was a paedophile.

    Poppycock.

There were high-level paedophiles in all parties on Geoffrey's list...

Did their leaders know about them too?

    1. Quite conceivably. Very probably.

But only one of them was Prime Minister, and therefore certainly knew, because she could not have not known.

Her PPS? The man with whom she spent every New Year's Eve? Don't you think that checks were run?

  3. We shall see. But quite possibly.

On this, no one has done more than I have, or at any rate no one has done as much more openly or more publicly.

It is a very short time since I was being told that the writ from Harriet Harman must surely be in the post. I am still waiting for it.

The same people pretended that they had never heard of the Paedophile Information Exchange. The BBC kept up that one for a week into the Harman story, before archive footage mysteriously appeared on the news.

In the midst of all of that, the Mail was sitting on the Patrick Rock story, and running the 30-odd-year-old Harman one as a distraction.

Patrick Rock. This year. Under David Cameron.

  4. Well said, Mr. L. Nobody has done more than you on the story of Harman and all that lot and the PIE. Got you banned from several We Own The Blogosphere sites, but you were right all along. Makes me wonder why Damian Thompson sacked you. But it is set out in full in one of your books, commended by two Peers and several Professors.
