My Own 7-1 Victory

I saw no column or feature by Damian Thompson in this week's Spectator.

He has lasted there one seventh as long as I lasted on Telegraph Blogs.

  1. He is in the Speccie again this week, must be a fortnightly column like several of theirs. You were scathing on Twitter about his efforts in the Catholic Herald's Charterhouse column last week. They have brought back Stuart Reid this week.

    1. That's only a Coffee House post. A parody of his old posts on Telegraph Blogs, except that he is not joking. He is being edited by Sebastian Payne, who cannot be much less than 30 years younger than he is.

    2. It is good to see Reid, a big fan of yours and as I recall you of his, back in Charterhouse. When you got your Telegraph blog, we assumed one of the next things would be you taking over that column when he retired. Thank God Thompson only lasted a week. Your tweet to him just now is perfect.

    3. "@holysmoke @Spectator_CH An editor 30 years younger than you are is letting you put up unwitting parodies of the stuff that got you sacked."

  2. Damian Thompson is awful. Is it me or does he look like Ant or Dec's creepy older brother?
