The Center of Intelligence?
William J. Burns, Director of the Central Intelligence Agency, was in Kabul on Monday, meeting Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, First Vice Emir of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.
Was Burns there to beg for mercy from those who had defeated the United States? Or was he there to formalise arrangements with those with whom the United States had done a deal? Or both?
