Tobias Ellwood was warmly received on the Conservative benches this afternoon for saying that the Taliban should have been at the 2001 Bonn peace talks from which Donald Rumsfeld excluded them. And Conservative MP after Conservative MP called for a foreign policy independent of the United States. Everyone, including Theresa May, is Jeremy Corbyn now.
We are now independent of the EU, more or less. But that was only ever the first round. Independence from the US has always been the big prize when it came to Taking Back Control. And suddenly, as previously with Brexit, everyone who is allowed a hearing seems to agree with the ghost of Tony Benn on that one, too.
Not everyone, Keir Starmer and his Muppet Showare still not Jeremy Corbyn now.
