Board Games

Full solidarity with Joan Smith. After eight years, and by email, she has been removed as a Co-Chair of the Mayor of London's Violence Against Women and Girls Board.

The people behind this kind of thing want to prolong the catastrophic war in Afghanistan, which of course New Labour started, for the sake of women and girls.

Yet woe betide anyone in Britain who suggested that women and girls, as such, existed at all. Or do they expect the ones in Afghanistan to solve their problems by self-identifying as men?

Not that Afghanistan is uniquely bad. Hilarity is ensuing that the Taliban are about to take over their country's seat on the Executive Board of UNESCO, to be held until 2023.

But Saudi Arabia is already on that Board, so what is the story here? There is nothing bad about the Taliban that is not also bad about Saudi Arabia, and there never has been.
