The Americans have been in Iraq for 17 years, and in Afghanistan for 19, going back before some American troops there were born. Whatever else withdrawal may be, it is certainly not premature.
And remember, you must never, ever, ever criticise NATO, which wants any and all wars to carry on for ever, and ever, and ever. We pay two per cent of our Gross Domestic Product for the privilege of being in this aggressively expansionist club of Turkish Islamists and Eastern European neo-Nazis, with Latin American caudillos on the waiting list.
We should get the hell out of it, before it gets us into hell. Again. I am a declared and active candidate for the parliamentary seat of North West Durham at the next General Election.
