Priti Patel was born in 1972. If she has needed a written report to tell her that it was no longer acceptable to shout and swear at her staff, then she cannot have worked in either the public or the private sector very much, if at all, during her own adult lifetime. And so it turns out.
Might people have shouted and sworn back at a man? Very probably. But that is not the point. The point is that the Conservatives and what is now the restored New Labour always claim that they have come from successful careers in business or the professions, so that they understand "the real world". But have a check, and they rarely or never have or do. Every so often, that fact becomes startlingly apparent.
