Cut the Labour majority in half at Islington North, and it would still be as safe as houses. Halve even that, and it would still be comfortable.
It must be nearly 20 years since a Blairite apparatchik told me that Jeremy Corbyn would "probably only serve one more term", because he himself wanted that to be true so that he could have the seat.
The Blairite apparatchiki are back in charge now, and Corbyn is in his seventies, so he is without the whip. The vultures are circling.
Meanwhile, anybody wishing to express solidarity with Corbyn should simply repeat his original words, which were and are the truth.
