The foundation of Clinton Jacobitism is that "Russia" hacked the Democratic National Committee, setting off a chain of events that led to the illegitimate installation of Donald Trump as President of the United States.
Today, that fantasy became the official position of the British Government. You do not need to think much of the Trump Administration to hope that it will now sanction the United Kingdom.
As much as anything else, that might bring Jeremy Corbyn back to his better instincts, after his recent indulgence of the Bear-baiters.
Remember, the DNC hack theory is entirely of a piece with the Government's ridiculous hallucinations about the Skripals. You cannot believe one but not the other. No properly functioning adult believes either of them.
Everything that Vladimir Putin said about Sergei Skripal was entirely factual. Skripal did what he did for the money, which we paid him. What remaining obligation did we have to him? None.
Unless you would also let in dodgy characters, and everyone who might come looking for them, from every other country on earth, then you have to say that we ought not to have let in Skripal, or Alexander Litvinenko, or Boris Berezovsky. Alas, Corbyn seems unwilling to say that.
