We could pay the affected shipyard workers quite eye-watering sums in compensation, and still save amounts that there were scarcely the adjectives to describe.
Alas, the people who lack this basic common sense are going to be numerous within the Parliamentary Labour Party for some years yet.
But another hung Parliament is coming. We need our people to hold the balance of power in it.
