Owen Jones and others are banging on about the reasons why Boris Johnson could never become Leader of the Labour Party. But he is not attempting to become Leader of the Labour Party.
This is the mirror reflection of what happened in 2015, when the media interests that had long been used to the last word were beside themselves at the rise of Jeremy Corbyn.
Corbyn could never have become Leader of the Conservative Party, and to them that fact disqualified him from ever becoming anything. After all, Britain had been like that for a very long time.
Well, it is not like that now.
