A Gulf In Their Thinking

And so Iran reacts in the only way that it ever could have done.

Japan, whose tankers they were, does not believe that they were attacked by Iran. But our supposedly Europhile and anti-Trump media ignore the European consensus that that charge is at best unproven, and instead repeat their trick from 2003, joining every candidate to lead the Conservative Party in screaming that the President of the United States must always be believed, and that so must "British intelligence", which in fact, as one of the precious "Five Eyes", lives on scraps from the Americans' table.

To anyone of a Peter Oborne or a Peter Hitchens cast of mind, with affinities towards American paleoconservatism or the Old Rights on the Continent, then the failure of any Conservative Leadership candidate to take any other line than this indicates that that party is not worth voting for. For the same reason, with the 2019 European Elections now out of the way, nor is the Brexit Party.

Most Labour MPs are at least as bad, of course. And this time, as on Libya, so are the Liberal Democrats. Another hung Parliament is coming, however, and we need our people to hold the balance of power in it. A new party will be registered before the House of Commons rises for the summer recess, even if I have to pay for it myself, ongoing lawfare or no ongoing lawfare.

And I will stand for Parliament here at North West Durham even if I can raise only the deposit, which I could do by going pretty overdrawn, although that was not how I was brought up. I would still prefer to raise the £10,000 necessary to mount a serious campaign, but I am no longer making my candidacy conditional on having done so. In any event, please email davidaslindsay@hotmail.com. Very many thanks.
