When first asked about it, the Police lied about having been called to Boris Johnson's flat. Only when they had been found out did they admit that it had ever happened. That is how gangster states work, and this has been one longer than anywhere else in the world.
Although it has been a long time since we had a Prime Minister who embodied that status quite so completely or so brazenly as Johnson did. It will be interesting to see whether anyone will dare to press the Police and others on their protection of, and enforcement for, the Boss once he really is the Boss. Probably not.
So get used to this kind of thing. If, for some unknown reason, you were not already. Another hung Parliament is coming, however, and we need our people to hold the balance of power in it. And I will stand for Parliament here at North West Durham even if I can raise only the deposit, which I could do by going pretty overdrawn, although that was not how I was brought up. I would still prefer to raise the £10,000 necessary to mount a serious campaign, but I am no longer making my candidacy conditional on having done so.
