A Gulf In Their Thinking

Iran is surrounded by the American war machine, and the Prime Minister of Japan is currently  in Tehran, seeking to mediate between Iran and the United States. It beggars belief that Iran would choose this moment to attack American oil tankers in the Gulf of Oman.

The last four attacks there have apparently been carried out by divers, making Iran the one country that could not have perpetrated them. But here comes a hike in the price of oil, to the benefit of our lords and masters, the Gulf monarchs, who are the state sponsors of terrorism against us and even on our very soil.

Here comes further intimidation of Iran over Syria and other things. Here comes John Bolton's war for his beloved PMOI/MEK, the weirdest political cult in the world, and one that, having been in exile since 1981, has no constituency in a country of which half the population is under 30 years of age.

And here comes a British Prime Minister who is either Boris Johnson, of Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe infamy, or Jeremy Hunt, who, by suggesting that Iran's neighbours might want nuclear weapons if it acquired them, recently indicated as Foreign Secretary that he did not know where Iran was, or at the very least what the nuclear status of its neighbours was.

Another hung Parliament is coming, however, and we need our people to hold the balance of power in it. A new party will be registered before House of Commons rises for the summer recess, even if I have to pay for it myself, ongoing lawfare or no ongoing lawfare.

And I will stand for Parliament here at North West Durham even if I can raise only the deposit, which I could do by going pretty overdrawn, although that was not how I was brought up. I would still prefer to raise the £10,000 necessary to mount a serious campaign, but I am no longer making my candidacy conditional on having done so. In any event, please email davidaslindsay@hotmail.com. Very many thanks.
