Normalise This

Earlier this year, and while he was Foreign Secretary rather than merely squatting in the tied cottage, Boris Johnson compared the Russians to the Nazis.

Within almost exactly its present borders, Russia existed as one of the USSR during the Second World War; indeed, Vladimir Putin's parents went through the Siege of Leningrad. All in all, far more offensive than anything relating to a State that did not exist at the time. 

But while Foreign Secretaries ought to be above such things, everyone gets compared to the Nazis. If you can't cope with that one, then stay out of politics, and stay away from the Internet.

Bringing us to Tommy Robinson, who receives much more generous and respectful coverage from the BBC than Jeremy Corbyn does. The Today programme, in particular, has a clear editorial policy of normalising him and his mere half a million supporters, at least half of whom are abroad.

Although even that leaves the figure in this country higher than that, which is not without crossover, represented in any way by the Board of Deputies of British Jews, or the Jewish Leadership Council, or the Chief Rabbi, or the self-styled "Campaign Against Antisemitism" that can tell it to the Charity Commission.

On behalf of all of them, and although he would presumably have to use his real name, Tommy Robinson will contest the North West Durham parliamentary seat against me.

Or my election literature will make great play of the fact that he had chickened out of doing so, right here in the Pakistan of the white working class. The choice is his. I need £10,000 in order to stand for Parliament with any chance of winning.
