Comprehensively Talented

His old school recently provided the worst Foreign Secretary in living memory and one of the worst Prime Ministers of all time, but Charles Moore has claimed that with no Old Etonians in the Cabinet, then he cannot see "where the talent is supposed to come from."

This contribution to the national conversation has made me more convinced than ever that the next Leader of the Labour Party ought to be Richard Burgon.

Richard's journey from a Leeds comprehensive school, via a Sixth Form college, Cambridge, and qualification and practice as a solicitor, to a seat in Parliament and to the Shadow Cabinet, is the kind of comprehensive school success story that Labour needs to tell.

And it is the kind of comprehensive school success story that the likes of Charles Moore need to hear.
