Hawkeye

LBJ, the incumbent President, pulled out in 1968 after a better result against George McGovern than Hillary Clinton has just managed against Bernie Sanders. This time, some caucuses were decided on a coin toss.

On the Republican side, it is starting to look like Marco Rubio. He is not Donald Trump. Nor is he Ted Cruz, whom the courts will in any case rule ineligible.

But no Establishment Republican, openly running as such, has won a Presidential Election since 1988.

And while Obama was not really on the radical Left, he allowed that impression to be given both in 2008 and, perhaps even more hysterically, in 2012.

He won comfortably on both occasions, and America is a much more left-wing country now than it was in 2008.

Clinton is the WASPs' last hope of a President. It is now practically certain that they will never provide another one.

Sanders may well turn out to be the last white President, of any tribe.
