The Government has no intention of doing anything about the Gender Recognition Reform Bill, which it could have written. In the middle of next year, there might be an announcement of nothing, if it even bothered with that. Anything else would have happened yesterday.
Across the public sector and its contractors, fanning out through everyone who followed any course of education or training, gender self-identification is already the law in England for most or all practical purposes. That situation has arisen entirely under the Conservatives.
That is nonsense- the Government explicitly rejected proposals for a similar law here in England (and every Scottish Conservative bar three voted against this) so we now have a different law in England Scotland. Both Sunak and Badenoch have today criticised the law and said they will have to respond up to and including Section 35. They couldn't have done it "yesterday" because there is alot to consider-not least the effect that overriding the will of the Scottish Parliament might have on support for Scottish independence. Governments have alot of responsibilities to consider. However, having explicitly criticized this bill and its proposed effects south of the border, the government will now have to act.

Oh, the fact that the public sector is a leftwing mess is hardly news. It was this week revealed that at a time of 70-year record high tax rises supposedly to “balance the books” our public sector is still wasting half a billion on “diversity” jobs. Talk about taxpayer funded institutions that exist just for the benefit of their own employees. It’s no wonder than when many striking workers were this week replaced by the Army (one of the few remaining rightwing institutions that still values discipline, hierarchy and patriotism above political correctness) the general public enjoyed a better service than usual.
ReplyDeleteIf the entire police went on strike and were replaced by the Army overnight, the streets would similarly be far safer and crime would come down overnight.
