As we prepare to clap for the NHS again, consider that the private health sector has been nationalised, and nationalised pretty much for nothing.
It is never going back. 23 years of NHS privatisation, beginning with the election of the Blair Government, have not only ended, but gone sharply into reverse.

Only Dominic Raab, the disappeared Priti Patel, and the rump of the Labour Party still believe in it now. The Centre is the think tank for this new era. Please give generously.
Speaking of Patel, she is in some kind of dispute with Yvette Cooper, the mass murdering Wicked Witch of the Work Capability Assessment. There must be some way that both of those can lose. There just has to be.
But the rest of us can get on with making the Fifth of July the United Kingdom's National Day, to be kept as fulsomely as the Fourth of July was kept in the United States. And the clapping might conceivably now be a weekly event forever.
