The case of Jean Charles de Menezes should have precluded the appointment of Cressida Dick as Metropolitan Police Commissioner, and the clapping fiasco on Westminster Bridge ought to have ended her tenure. How does she get away with it?
Well, in the carefully curated words of Wikipedia, "It was announced in December 2014 that she would retire from the police in 2015 to join the Foreign Office, in an unspecified director-general level posting."
See also the other great villain of the de Menezes case, Keir Starmer. It is all very spooky.
