Turn Again

For the first time ever, since 1189, there will be no election of a Lord Mayor of London by the Court of Alderman this Michaelmas. It has been put back a year, like the election of the Mayor of London.

330 registered electors have to sign a London Mayoral candidate's nomination papers, 10 from each of the 32 London Boroughs and 10 from the City. Say what you like about him, but George Galloway managed that last time.

When he manages it again this time, then it will be clear that a formidable movement was already in existence, waiting to be activated. Even seats on the City of London Corporation will be within reach. And eventually even the office of Lord Mayor.

The Centre is the think tank for this new era. Please give generously.
