Some Things Really Are Black And White

The North East remains a major centre of recruitment to the Armed Forces. But it looks as if 80 per cent of shares in Newcastle United really are about to pass to the Public Investment Fund, which is not merely a Saudi company, but the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia itself.

Yet Saudi Arabia funds and directs attacks on the British Armed Forces, and indeed on the British civilian population. It is the nerve centre of global Islamist terrorism, despite its close connections to both main political parties in the United States, and now once again to both main political parties in the United Kingdom. Money talks.

Once this sale had gone through, then every time time that you bought a Newcastle United season ticket, or an item of its branded merchandise, or anything like that, you would be participating in the financial network that funded attacks on British military personnel, whether or not they ought to be where they are, and attacks right here on the streets of Britain.

The best that can be said is that this might be some kind of protection racket, with cities hoping for security because the House of Saud owned their key assets such as the football club. But that has not worked in London. And it will not work anywhere else, either.
