Bury Bad News

The Sunak Government will be far too egalitarian economically for Christian Wakeford, and probably also far too unbelligerent in its foreign policy. He has quite rightly joined the party that will be opposing that Government from the Hard Right. It is welcome to him.

The Labour whip in the House of Commons now extends to a man who voted for the cut in Universal Credit; for the increase in National Insurance; for the Covert Human Intelligence Sources (Criminal Conduct) Act; for the Overseas Operations (Service Personnel and Veterans) Act; for the Nationality and Borders Bill; for the Elections Bill; and for the Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Bill. That whip does not, however, extend to Jeremy Corbyn.
