Right Off

If Boris Johnson were still there a week tomorrow, then he would quite possibly be there until the next General Election, which he would then stand a good chance of winning. Never, ever, ever bet against him.

But Jacob Rees-Mogg and Nadine Dorries are becoming hysterical in their defence of Johnson because they know that the end of him will be the end of them. Although it must be said that neither of them needs the money. They are true believers.

With Steve Baker having ruled himself out, the Right, as such, is looking at having no Leadership candidate at all. Rishi Sunak is a big spending Brexiteer. Liz Truss is a small spending Remainer, although I do not know who told her that wars came cheap. Someone like Jeremy Hunt is a big spending Remainer.

The small spending Brexiteers have no candidate, which strongly suggests that they cannot agree on one among themselves, or that they have insufficient numbers anyway, or both. Of course, it is both.
