There is nothing conservative about the British Conservative Party, but there is about the core of its core, the base of its base, the farmers. 

One day, the wannabe American Republicans who control that party are going to come after the farm subsidies. And what then?

Only a Corbynite Labour Party can really make the case for farm subsidies, set within a much wider framework of State activity in the economy. 

But then there are the Labour MPs who do not believe a word of that, but who were too cool for the Tories at university.

Another hung Parliament is coming, however, and our people need to hold the balance of power in it.
