Job Lot?

The official employment figures cannot be correct. When there is less unemployment, then there are higher wages. And there aren't, so there can't be.

What we have are people on zero hours contracts, people being counted twice or three times because they need two or three jobs, people who are no longer being counted as unemployed because their benefits have been stopped, and so on.

Those of us who grew up in the Major years will remember when it was accepted as a given that the unemployment statistics were not merely fiddled, but made up out of thin air.

That was a nightly national punchline, one among several, in the days before most people had heard of the Internet and when there were only four channels on the television.

Yet even in this digital age, here we are again.

When there is less unemployment, then there are higher wages. And there aren't, so there can't be. The official employment figures cannot be correct.

Instead of this, we need the Build It In Britain programme, the National Investment Bank, the Regional Development Banks, Modern Monetary Theory's Jobs Guarantee, freedom from the European Single Market and Customs Union, post-Brexit trade deals with the BRICS countries, and integration into the Belt and Road Initiative.

Therefore, we need our people to hold the balance of power in the next hung Parliament. I need £10,000 in order to stand for Parliament with any chance of winning.
