This week, in 2016, the governing party of the United Kingdom went to court, to attempt (unsuccessfully, as it turned out) to prevent the Police from investigating that party's alleged electoral malpractice.
Not only did that happen, but so did the failure to report it on the part of the State broadcaster that is the main or only source of news for the huge majority of the population.
