If this had been anyone else, then it would be huge news.
When George Galloway was last an MP, an attacker hospitalised him and put him on crutches for weeks, but everyone just ignored it or treated it as a joke.
But then, David Cameron had referred to him by name at PMQs, yet John Bercow had not rebuked him.
Galloway's name is being left off polls, he is not being invited to debates, and now this.
He is going to win the Tooting by-election because he is already campaigning for it, before Khan has even become Mayor.
But he could be murdered, and the official line would be to laugh.
