Moral Equivalency

Damn right.

Apartheid South Africa may not have been the active threat to this country that the Soviet Union was, but the Boer Republic set up as an explicit act of anti-British revenge in a former Dominion of the Crown was just as much our enemy in principle, and did in fact sustain in a neighbouring state a regime set up by an act of treason against the present Queen.

Both the pro-Moscow (indeed, Moscow-funded) lot and the pro-Pretoria (indeed, Pretoria-funded) lot, admittedly in marked contrast to Moscow and Pretoria themselves, were in favour of such things as drug legalisation and the abolition of any minimum age of consent, both effectively done, like so many other of their agenda.

Well, of course. Between them, the old pro-Moscow (indeed, Moscow-funded) lot and the old pro-Pretoria (indeed, Pretoria-funded) lot are now running the country. To those who argue that Trotskyists were not pro-Moscow, yours is a distinction without a difference. Although you might consider trying to set up a Trotskyist newspaper in your beloved Cuba even today, and seeing how far you got.
