Michael Gove is calling on the seven biggest developers to cough up for the building safety crisis out of the £16 billion in profits that they have made since the Grenfell Tower fire.
He is going nowhere near far enough, but he is taking a step in the right direction, and he is making a case that could also be made for Labour's windfall tax on the oil and gas companies as a measure towards alleviating the energy crisis.
That would also be a step in the right direction. Although it, too, would go nowhere near far enough.
We need you in Parliament to keep both parties on their toes.
