Last night, only 54 MPs voted against the welfare cap, of whom only 14 were Labour, plus Jeremy Corbyn and Claudia Webbe. One Labour MP, Kate Hollern, voted in favour.
But the official Labour line was to join the Liberal Democrats, who are still pretending that the Coalition was nothing to do with them, in abstaining. Labour and the Lib Dems abstain from voting for us, and we should therefore abstain from voting for them.
The Lib Dems' pretence that the only bad thing they did in the Coalition was tuition fees is something else.
ReplyDeleteI called out their candidate on that at this constituency's only hustings in 2019. He was going on about the Bedroom Tax.
