Do not worry about GCSE results. George Osborne failed Maths completely (even I did better than that), but he is now the Chancellor of the Exchequer.
You wouldn't get into Oxford now with something like that on your record, no matter which degree. Never mind on a scholarship. And then he was a Dean Rusk Scholar with a 2:1.
What is going on here?
He is not that aristocratic. Not that that would have bothered anyone in America, anyway. He is the heir to the title of a confiscated and redistributed baronetcy in what is now the Irish Republic.
It is all very strange.
