Much anger in certain places when I point out the economists who are supporting Jeremy Corbyn.
"What do they know?", squeal those who never realised that Harry Enfield was joking.

In that case, do Professors of Physics know nothing about Physics? Do Professors of Classics know nothing about Classics?
No economist of any note takes George Osborne seriously, nor has any endorsed any Labour Leadership candidate other than Jeremy Corbyn.
Right-wing economists are either Economics graduates who couldn't get onto postgrad programmes, or people who scraped PhDs but whom no university would employ, or rank amateurs who are completely self-taught and self-certified.
They write whatever the corporate sponsors of their think tanks want to read. But they are not the real thing.
Whereas, apart from me (I am just a journalist who wrote a letter that some distinguished people signed), those who have endorsed Corbyn are the very real thing. The very real thing, indeed.
The people who subscribe to right-wing economics, including the three also-rans for the Labour Leadership, have plenty of echo chambers.
But so do the people who think that The Lord of the Rings is the greatest ever work of English Literature.
To the respective scholarly fields, both alike are not even wrong.
