Adversus Haereses

I have some words for Bill Roache, who like all Thatcherites is as trapped in the 1960s as Ken Barlow is:

"We may subvert their doctrine as to transmigration from body to body with this fact, that souls remember nothing whatsoever of the events which took place in their previous state."

In other words, what would be the point of reincarnation?

Thus wrote Saint Irenaeus of Lyons (Adversus Haereses, II/33/1), who was martyred around AD 202. There are no new heresies. The same ones just go round, and round, and round.

  1. Yes, but they remember nothing whatsoever of the events which took place in their previous states.
